Prostitutes have existed for as long as history can tell, but they’ve traditionally been overlooked or misguided by a society that often finds their occupation as an immoral practice and as a blemish on a community's reputation. But luckily for sex workers, the world is slowly starting to recognize their courage and attempts to change their fate in our society. Projecting transformation in the life of prostitutes begins with trust-building, opportunity creation, and providing a safe space for sex workers to open up about their struggles and desires.

This understanding can then be used to create shelters, jobs, educational courses, and other resources for them so they can feel that they are a part of the larger community than just being a mere outsider.

Another way to make a positive change is through activism such as putting pressure on local governments to protect sex workers from the police, providing medical aid and healthcare facilities, and enforcing laws on low demands and high penalties. This will go a long way in creating a safe environment for these prostitutes as well as providing collective energy to their movements.

We need to recognize that sex workers have the right to dignity, self-determination, and a space in society without mistrust and shame. It’s our collective responsibility to take conscious efforts to make sure that sex workers have the opportunity to lead a safe and prosperous life. From creating awareness and getting involved in policy making decisions, to actively supporting organizations that work towards this cause, we can make an effort towards the life of these prostitutes.
